Only helps if your background is already one plain color (e.g. a wall) — this is color-distance math, not real subject cutout, so it won't do anything useful against busy or textured backgrounds.

How to make a passport photo

  1. Pick your destination country from the dropdown above, or from the list below.
  2. Review the requirements table — size, background, resolution, and file size.
  3. Upload a photo — you'll crop it to the exact required ratio next.
  4. Check the automated results, then download the fitted photo or a printable sheet (4R, A4, Letter).

Frequently asked questions

Is this tool legally guaranteed to be accepted?

No — this is reference data, not legal advice. It checks aspect ratio, print resolution, format, and file size automatically, but not head position, background color, lighting, or expression, which still need a human check against the destination country's current official guidance.

Can I use a photo taken on my phone?

Yes, as long as it's well-lit, in focus, and shows a plain background you can crop tightly around — a phone photo against a plain wall works well.

What if my country isn't listed?

This build covers 16 countries so far. If yours isn't listed, the closest ICAO-style match (like the EU/Schengen entry) is a reasonable starting point, or check your country's own passport office for its exact size.

Can I print the photo myself instead of ordering prints?

Yes — use the Printable sheet feature to lay multiple copies out on a 4R, A4, or Letter sheet sized for a home or drugstore printer.

Does this replace an official passport photo booth or studio?

Not necessarily — it's a free way to prepare a compliant photo yourself, but if your application specifically requires in-person biometric capture (several countries on this list now do), check your country's current process first.
