Frequently asked questions

Will converting to JPG lose transparency?

Yes — JPG doesn't support transparency, so any transparent areas in a PNG or WebP source get filled with a solid background. Use Convert to PNG instead if you need to keep transparency.

Why convert to JPG instead of keeping the original format?

JPG is the most universally supported format for photos — smaller than PNG for photographic images, and accepted by nearly every website, form, and app.

Does this reduce image quality?

JPG is a lossy format, so there's some trade-off, controlled by the quality slider — higher values keep more detail at a larger file size.

Can I batch-convert many photos to JPG at once?

Yes — add as many as you like; JPG stays selected for the whole batch until you change it.
