Will compressing reduce the quality of my photo?
Some — compression trades file size against visual quality. Quality mode lets you set that trade-off directly; higher numbers keep more detail but produce larger files. For most photos, a quality setting between 65 and 85 looks close to the original at a fraction of the size.
What's the difference between Quality mode and Max file size mode?
Quality mode encodes once at the level you choose. Max file size mode searches for the highest quality that still fits under your KB target — useful when a form or upload limit gives you a hard size cap.
Does this tool upload my photos anywhere?
No. Compression runs entirely in your browser using the Canvas API — your photos never leave your device. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Which formats can I compress?
JPEG, PNG, and WebP, plus reading HEIC/AVIF where your browser supports decoding them. You can convert to a different output format as part of the same pass.
Can I compress more than one photo at once?
Yes — add as many as you like and tap Process all. Each photo keeps its own result, downloadable individually or as one ZIP.
